The Bed & Breakfast "Podesta Dimora" is the ideal solution for those seeking comfort, refined detail and a warm family atmosphere in the heart of Positano. It is located on Via Pasitea, the main street of Positano, in the lively and authentic Fornillo neighborhood. It is a typical and cozy home on the Amalfi Coast built between 1600 and 1700 and it’s characterized by a beautiful Pompeian red façade. In 1959 Domenico and Carmela Milo, parents and grandparents of the current owners, bought the Podestà, this old residence to make it their home which they loved and preserved intact until the recent renovation (2016) performed with respect to the ancient aesthetics. The name of the B&B Dimora del Podestà stems from a plaque on the facade of the building, placed in 1955 in memory of the Podestà of Positano.

For its position in the heart of Positano, the Bed & Breakfast “Dimora del Podestà” is only a few minutes on foot from:
Fornillo Beach is our neighborhood beach: made up of medium-sized pebbles and sand, it is always very clean and with a beautiful clear sea. Starting from the month of May it is equipped with beach clubs, bars and restaurants. It can be reached from the B&B along the characteristic staircase and it is the ideal place to spend a day of peace and relax under the sun. It is connected to the Spiaggia Grande beach by via Positanesi d’America: a pedestrian path overlooking the sea, also called the ‘Lovers Path’ for its romantic atmosphere and enchanting panoramas.
The "Grotta di Fornillo” is a minute walk from the B&B Dimora del Podestà and is famous for its nativity scene built within and is embellished every year by the local fishermen during the Christmas holidays. Here as well, is the local bus stop which allows one to easily move around the town. From here you can take the long and characteristic stairway leading to the beach of Fornillo.
The Marina Grande is considered the tourist center of Positano: an extensive pedestrian area rich in colors with a backdrop scene in so many photos and postcards. Here you can find a sandy beach, the Mother Church with its famous majolica dome, the tourist pier and many small streets and alleys full of shops and boutiques. This beach is the largest and most crowded beach of Positano and is popular to locals, tourists and celebrities who adore the Amalfi Coast. It is the ideal place to spend warm summer evenings in the various bars, restaurants and the famous night club Music on the Rock. From here there are daily excursions by boat to visit the Amalfi Coast and Capri.
What our guests are saying about us
